If you like to enjoy the local flavor and want to have feel of India, road transport is the best option to tour Agra. You can hire a taxi or take a bus from any of the major cities like Delhi, Jaipur and Mathura. Agra is 220 km from Delhi.

Local Transport in Agra
For sightseeing in Agra you can opt for taxis, autos-rickshaws or tongas. Bicycles are also available and can be hired on an hourly basis. Railway stations and bus stands have separate counters for prepaid auto rickshaws and taxis. A note of caution: the area around Taj Mahal is a pollution free zone and no diesel or petrol vehicles are allowed. Battery-operated buses, rickshaws and horse-driven tongas are common means of transport. Fares are usually on the lower side and bargaining is a must to get a decent deal.
